The Historical City of Yazd

The historical city of Yazd in Yazd province was registered in UNESCO at 2017. It is located in the central plateau of Iran. The reason of its registration is its valuable historical and traditional architecture.

Yazd is the first clay city of Iran and the second historical city of the world after Venice. The other names of Yazd are Dar-Al Ebade ( means home of righteous people), Wind-tower City and The City of Bicycle. It is one of the city with lowest rainfall in Iran. The beautiful and unique attractions of Yazd caused many tourists to travel to Yazd every year.

How to get to Yazd ?

Generally, travel to Yazd by plane is available from Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Bandar -e Abbas, Mashhad, Kermanshah and Zahedan airports. The government opens Yazd railways at 1350 AD. It contains 9500 original lines. It is available to travel to Yazd by train from Tehran, Kerman, Mashhad, Bandar -e Abbas, Zahedan, Isfahan and Kashan cities. Also, Yazd has two main passenger Terminals that both are in good location for travelers who want to visit Yazd. They have services for all parts of Iran.

Yazd,s old and likely neighborhoods are always among the best sights in Yazd for tourist. The important ones are Chahar-Menar ( Four Minarets) neighborhood, Abshahi (waterfall) neighborhood, Khalaf Khanali neighborhood, Sardorah (heading out) neighborhood, Lab -e Khandagh (trench lip) neighborhood, Shahbaz (witness) neighborhood, Lord Keyvan neighborhood and Ab -e Shoor (salty-water) neighborhood.
